Throwback Thursday – Shades of Brown

The colors found in a picture can make it or break it. Sometimes, when out on a shoot it’s hard to tell if a photo will have those rich color tones that will stand out from the crowd.

This photo is one that I was not sure about until I got it off the camera and into my computer software. The different shades of brown work to give the photo a variety of textures: the coarseness of the grass, the softness of the feathers, and the ripple of the water.

If you’re not sure about the colors of a photo, wait to delete it until you can see it on the computer or in print. You never know when you might be eliminating a possible winner.
