Wildlife Photography is often about being ready to capture that perfect shot. You’re eagerly peering through the viewfinder at your subject, and your finger is on the shutter release. You’re tense, nervous, and excited. The shutter clicks and soon the animal takes off.
Sometimes though, it’s nice to sit back and enjoy watching your subject go about it’s routine. Ducks are especially fun to watch as they float on the water, preen themselves, and fight with each other. Taking the time to observe your subjects can mean that you learn new patterns that you can anticipate in the future. Maybe they bob their heads before getting ready to take off, or they often flap their wings after a preening session.
Take the time to relax and get to know your subject. Your future shots will be all the better for it.
