Springtime is a wonderful time to be out doing wildlife photography. Everything is renewing itself and it’s time to start hunting for little ones.
This can mean looking for nests, watching for parents, and researching animal habits.
The best place to start is close to home, especially if you have woodlands or water near where you live. I used to live right next to a pond and every spring it was a wonderful place to find goslings and, if you were very lucky, ducklings. Going for a stroll in the springtime could mean getting great photos or just the enjoyment of watching the birds in action. This photo was taken during an evening stroll around the pond. The back-lighting softens the subjects and really makes the reflections pop.
It may be winter now, but spring is next on the list and it will be time to go hunting for more little ones.
