Wildlife photography can include long, laborious car rides, traveling far outside your comfort zone, and sometimes sitting and waiting for hours for your target to come in. Other times, you just have to walk out your door.
I used to live in an apartment complex that had a pond alongside the buildings. This pond would be teaming with wildlife especially during the spring and fall migrations. Because it was so close to home, I would often overlook it and a good wildlife photography location.
One evening, I decided to take a walk and happened across a small number of American Coots resting in the pond. Running back to get my camera, I was able to capture this image of a nicely reflecting Coot on the water.
Next time, I need to remember that a great opportunity might be found right outside my door.
